SILVERSTONE lap record holder Pete Jennings again struggled for speed on Easter Monday, but still managed a creditable seventh place finish in the second round of the British 125 Motorcycling Championship.
The Knotts Motorcycles rider qualified in sixth spot on Sunday, but lost out in a race to the finish 24 hours later when old foe Steve Patrickson nicked sixth spot.
"I'm still struggling with a slow bike," a disappointed Jennings reflected.
"It's all down to the cash shortage and the problem won't be put right until the money situation is sorted out.
"I can overtake other bikes on the bends but I get passed far too easily on the straights," the Offenham-based rider added.
That particular problem won't be helped by the venue for the next round. It's Snetterton on May 7, which is one of the fastest tracks on the circuit where speed is the key to success.
