RETIRED boss Jan Molby made a surprise playing comeback with a substitute appearance as Kidderminster Harriers reserves trounced Tamworth 6-0 on Wednesday.
The result ensures a strong Harriers challenge for the Central Conference title continues at full pace.
As well as Molby's appearance from the 70th minute, 20-year-old trialist Darren Young from Barnsley was also given a game.
Young has been confined to reserve-team football at the First Division club.
Harriers, with Drewe Broughton regularly testing the Tamworth rearguard, had to wait 42 minutes before they opened the scoring.
Tamworth's Tom Stevenson headed into his own net from Ben Davies' cross and it was two shortly after the break when the visitors' Paul Hatton sliced Young's cross in a similar direction.
Andy Corbett struck a shot through the keeper's hands after a Davies pass then the midfielder grabbed a fourth after good work from Thomas Poston who has been impressing at Dr Martens League Moor Green.
Then Tony Bird set up Corbett for a fifth and, with former Liverpool favourite Molby now showing his skills on the field, Bird and Broughton set up Davies for a final strike.
Harriers: Brock, Poston (Molby 70), Young, Barnett (Bird 46), Shail, Ayres, Corbett, Davies, Broughton, Durnin, Faulds.
