Indoor Bowls
DURING the last six months 36 teams have competed in three leagues at Evesham Public Hall.
The morning triples league was won for a second year by Albertians (captain B Haines). The runners up were Abbey Road.
The afternoon league was keenly competed with five teams challenging at the top. Charlton (captained by W Higson) were the champions, the runners-up were Evendene.
Avon (captain N Gould) won the evening title with a new entry this season, the Newcomers, taking the runners-up slot.
During the last two weeks of the season teams competed for the knock-out trophies.
The morning triples competition was won by Lynwood (captain B Quarterman) who defeated Evendene 18-14 in the final.
In the afternoon final Lynwood, who are captained by B Quarterman, won 13-12 against Parklands.
The league runners-up newcomers (captain J Haines) won the evening event after defeating Nightowls 22-7.
Following the evening cup final club president, Mr I Marshall, presented the trophies. He thanked members who had organised and run the indoor season and announced that the outdoor season is due to start on Sunday.
