Evesham B 49
Ledbury Magpies 46
A RE-SELECTION of players for the start of this year's Worcester City Summer League by the club coach has produced three almost entirely new teams for Evesham Ladies.
With little experience of playing as a team Evesham made a shakey start for their debut in division three against last season's division four champions.
This opening game was a little too close for comfort with Ledbury in the lead at the end of the first quarter.
Evesham finally went ahead in the third quarter with accurate shooting from Sarah Wansborough.
A solid performance from Pat Butson earned her player of the match despite having to leave the court in the final quarter with a knee injury.
Without any substitutes Evesham found themselves under pressure, but managed to hold on to their lead to take the points.
