Simon Andrews, the 18-year-old from Wickhamford riding the Unilock Construction Honda, is reflecting on a tough meet at Silverstone in the second round of the British Supersport Championships.
Simon qualified 13th for the race, but was eventually placed 12th on the grid after another rider was dropped back down the grid for an infringement.
During the race, Simon struggled to keep the pace he was hoping for on the new, fuel injected Unilock Construction Honda CBR600, which had run well all weekend.
This meant he was short of top speed and had to battle against the other riders in the corners, only to be left again at the end of the straights.
Team manager Keith Whiting was reasonably happy with the team's efforts and result saying: "There is a lot more to come from the bike and team." Simon's 13th place keeps him in 10th position overall in the championship.
