A LARGE congregation enjoyed a performance of John Rutter's Requiem, which took place on Palm Sunday at St James Church, Colwall.
An augmented choir and orchestra which was conducted by Carl Attwood. A retiring collection in aid of the India Earthquake appeal raised over £400.
The next production by the Colwall Players will be on Thursday, Friday and Saturday 26, 27 and 28 April at 7.30pm at Colwall Village Hall. This will be two one act plays with supper, the plays are 'A Respectable Funeral' by Jimmie Chinn and 'Between Mouthfuls' by Alan Ayckbourn. Tickets obtainable from John Goodwin at £8 including supper (please bring a bottle).
The spring jumble sale of the women's section of the British Legion is being held tomorrow, April 21 at 2.30pm in the club house, Crescent Road, Colwall. There will be many bargains and everyone is invited to go along. Entrance will be 20p.
The magnificent sum of £4,350 has been raised by the auction held recently by the Colwall Macmillan fund-raising committee.
