Who is Peter Hughes, and why does he think he knows what is best for those of us who would be affected by any future development off Lower Howsell Road?
I deplore his patronising attitude to our concerns (the same attitude expressed by Bovis at the public meeting) and regret that even though he was at the meeting he obviously did not really listen to anything that was said.
Mr Hughes tells us of the "good deal to be struck" and the "golden opportunity". The only gold to be seen in the plan is for Bovis and the Madresfield Estate!
The majority of people at the meeting objected to the proposed roads in and out of the development on the grounds of increased traffic and noise, but Mr Hughes apparently did not hear this. A suggestion was made that Bovis should look at access to the development from the Newlands end, something else he did not hear.
The only concession to traffic congestion was the possibility of traffic lights at the junction of Worcester Road and Lower Howsell Road. A solution which would almost certainly put Malvern in the Guinness Book of Records for the most traffic lights in one mile!
