LEDBURY roots group Bleeding Hearts are looking forward to supporting one of the largest names in folk rock this summer, when they play alongside The Levellers at their Forest Gigs in June.
The four dates are entirely organised by The Levellers' management, and are free from commercial sponsorship, something that the Ledbury group is against. They follow a single event last year in Essex, which was a big success.
Bleeding Hearts have played over 600 gigs all over Europe since they formed in 1995, including the Glastonbury Festival, and the Terschelling Fest in Holland.
Later this year, they will embark on a 30-date tour of Canada, as well as gigs around the UK.
The band pride themselves on their musical integrity, and describe themselves as "spreading a gospel of and for the free thinking, questioning and radical elements of society."
The Forest Gigs are on Friday, June 1 at Dalby Forest Park in Pickering, North Yorkshire, Saturday, June 2 at Sherwood Pines, Mansfield, Nottingham, Friday, June 22 in Thetford Forest, Suffolk and Saturday, June 23 in Bedgebury, Kent.
Bleeding Hearts play at the Gloucester Guildhall tonight (Friday), at 8.30pm. Tickets are £7, available from the box office on 01452 505089.
