MALVERN RM made hard work of this week's Worcester Sunday League Division Four match considering their opponents could only field nine players.

MALVERN RM 10, VIRGIN SPORTS 1

After an excellent match away to Virgin Sports earlier in the season which Malvern won 2-0, all the Malvern team were expecting a really hard battle. The Malvern boys totally dominated the match with Virgin only having one shot at goal and scoring from it. Amazingly the score at half time was 1-1, Malvern hitting the crossbar three times and missing easy chance after chance.

The second half saw Malvern take full advantage of playing against nine men and six goals in the last 19 minutes saw the Malvern team totally demoralise their opponents.

The goal scorers were Scott Senter (5) 4, 48, 53, 59 and 77 minutes, Chris Golding (3) 71, 76 and 80 minutes, Martin Davis (2) 85 and 87 minutes.

This victory has strengthened Malvern's grip on their title hopes, where goal difference may play a major part on winners and runners-up. Malvern only have four matches left, all at home and they are now guaranteed to get at least runners-up, but still firmly believe they have one hand on the title.

Malvern RM are at home to local rivals Red Lion Falcons (Victoria Park) this Sunday, April 22.
