THE Ultimate Sport Karate Organisation who have successful local karate clubs in Colwall, Ledbury, Worcester, Malvern and Tewkesbury, have reason to celebrate.
The assistant instructor from the Malvern club David Avery has achieved the rank of Karate Black Belt 1st Dan, after examination held recently at the Ultimate Sport Karate, spring weekend course in Tewkesbury.
Dave teaches for chief instructor Neil Bennett, Karate Black Belt 3rd Dan, on a regular Wednesday night in Malvern. Dave plans to start his own club with the organisation shortly.
Mr Bennett said: "I'm very pleased that Dave has achieved his Black Belt. I have known Dave for several years and instructed him from a beginner, he has become a more positive person and a confident instructor.
"During his grading he maintained a high standard, whilst under constant pressure. Together with his own determination and dedication to karate, this has made him the Black Belt he is today."
