DISABLED bowler George Ridgeon has been presented with a £100 cheque for the English Paraplegic Sports Association (EPSA) by Don Sumner who helps the Hereford & Worcester Disabled Bowlers at Malvern Hills Indoor Bowls Club.
George is representing the EPSA in Ballamoney, Northern Ireland at the end of April with nine other disabled bowlers from all over England in the annual home countries against Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. So the EPSA has to raise a lot for the bowlers and helpers!
George bowls as well as club competition also fire service matches, as an ex fireman, as well as matches for the disabled. George won the Wheelchair Men's Singles at Stoke Manderville last June and a gold medal in the Triples in New Zealand.
George feels the regular games and practice roll ups at Malvern helps! Any disabled, wheelchair, walking or visually challenged, who would like any details of bowling or any one who may like to help call Don Sumner on (01886) 832447.
