A HOST of Worcester rugby stars from the past and the present are set to do battle later this month to celebrate President's Day.
Outgoing President Dick Cumming has arranged a day of rugby action on Sunday April 29 the highlight of which is set to be a match between a Gloucester XV and a Worcester XV.
Former Worcester players such as Paul Holford, Duncan Hughes, Bruce Fenley, Pete Mitchell, Chris Raymond and Simon Devereux are lined up to play alongside present Sixways professionals Tony Windo, Chris Hall, Virgil Hartland, Dave Sims and Nathan Carter in the Gloucester side.
They will meet present Worcester first team squad players Sateki Tuipulotu, Andy Higgins, Nick Baxter, Mark Eastwood, Tony Yapp, Andy Collins and Richard Denhardt who will be joined by previous players such as Ali McLaughlin, Ben Harvey, Steve Powell, Mark Linnett, Dean Ball, Spencer Bramley and Nigel Richardson.
Kick-off is scheduled for 3pm.
There will also be matches between Worcester Mini/Juniors and Bromsgrove (12.30pm), Worcester Wanderers and an Invitation XV (1.30pm) and Worcester Ladies and Lichfield (3pm).
All games are scheduled to be played on the Stadium pitch.
Meanwhile, Worcester's Former Players Association are celebrating this weekend as they hold their annual luncheon at Sixways.
More than 100 former players will be reminiscing about the past Worcester glories and cheering on the present side today. They will be enjoying a formal luncheon and speeches in the marquee before watching the National Division One fixture between Worcester and Moseley.
