WORCESTERSHIRE look set to name an unchanged side for their County Championship Division Two match against Sussex which opens tomorrow at New Road.
"We'll make a decision tomorrow but it's unlikely the team will change," said Director of Cricket Tom Moody.
Paceman Alamgir Sheriyar was 12th man for the match against Middlesex which ended as a rain abandoned draw at Lord's yesterday.
During the pre-season build-up he suffered a back spasm but has now made a full recovery. Whether he plays against Sussex has yet to be decided, but Moody said: "We'd like to remain a little bit consistent."
Worcestershire are hoping the wet weather will relent to enable them to get under way on time tomorrow, particularly after all the hard work which has gone into repairing the damage caused by winter flooding.
Moody said: "You are always going to get rain this time of the year.
"I suppose it's good that we got a little bit of time out in the middle at Lord's and got a few of the cobwebs out.
"I would imagine the wicket at New Road will be OK because they have spent plenty of time on it and the weather yesterday was good. It's just how the outfield takes the rain we are having today. It won't be any worse than what it was at Middlesex."
The forthcoming game will be a milestone in the County's history -- their 1000th first-class match at New Road.
Paceman Duncan Catterall, meanwhile, who is battling to overcome a stress fracture of the back is stepping up his bid for full fitness.
Moody said: "He'll not be undergoing surgery at this stage. He's going to do strengthening work and we are to be doing some changes to his bowling action and see how we get on."
