I CONCUR with farmer Richard Gomm regarding his concern over the movement of gipsies and their horses during the foot-and-mouth crisis (You Say, Saturday, April 14).
I witnessed this gipsy family's departure from the Hallow roadside site last week.
It was a sight to behold. Mud was strewn everywhere. On their clothes, their horses and their three wagons - a micro-organic world in motion.
It was a scene you'd expect to witness in an eastern European country and not in Middle England. One muddy-faced gipsy boy could have walked out of the pages of a Dickens novel.
Not a colourful sight - all greys and browns - but certainly interesting!
