SPORTY Droitwich residents may soon be able to practise their strokes on a new town golf course.
Droitwich Golf Centre, in Copcut Lane, wants to create a nine-hole course.
It is planned across 30 acres of land owned by the centre which has been running for nearly eight years.
It won't be a municipal facility but it will be open to the public, including non-members. The club already boasts a golf shop, floodlit driving range, chipping area and classes led by a professional golfer.
Owner Penny Thomas said: "If we get permission, work can begin this year.
"A golf course is a much-needed facility, especially for children who have little to do in Droitwich.
"We welcome families and people of all ages. This is a very exciting expansion."
Blueprints will be considered by Wychavon District Council.
