STOKE Prior Bowling Club suffered a rollercoaster set of results in the last week.
In the Warks and Worcs League, the A side had a terrific away win at Brookvale Social by four shots, but then suffered an away defeat at the Barn Social Club in Witton.
In contrast, The B side are in terrific form, with three wins from three games. The latest victory was a superb 40 shot home win over local rivals R.S.J.C.Peter Bridgman & Dave Buttery top scored with 21-8 cards.
The Big Crown team sensationally crashed out of the Major Cup at the hands of West Midlands Police B, while the Heart of England side lost out to Tanworth.
Derek Burton's Northfield and District side continue to impress with double wins over the Warstock, but the Yardley Wood and District side have a mammoth task on their hands after losing at home to Northfield's, Black Horse by four shots.
l Off the green, things are looking serious with the news that Stoke Prior Sports and Social Club have called a general meeting on Thursday May 17 to discuss amongst other things, the dissolution of the club.
The club committee have stated that they 'feel there is no alternative but to bring the club to a close'. What impact this will have in the immediate future to the bowls section is unclear at this stage.
