REDDITCH have recruited former Worcester back Danny Badham in a bid to improve their fortunes next season.
The Kingfishers finished their season with a narrow 18-17 defeat to near neighbours Droitwich on Saturday with Badham making his Redditch debut.
The new arrival has replaced Dave Parsons, who stepped down because of work commitments and skipper Andy Douglas says he can provide a lift for the club.
"We don't know what's happening about promotion or relegation but whatever happens we can do a lot better next season," said the captain.
"If we go down we will be looking to win the championship and come straight back up, and if we stay in this league I know we can finish in the top four."
Redditch sit second from bottom of the Midlands Four West South having played all their matches and could yet finish bottom because basement boys Stoke OB, who sit one point behind them, have a match left.
The Bromsgrove Road club's fate will depend upon teams several leagues above them according to official Ken Russell.
"There are clubs at national level who look unlikely to complete their fixtures because of foot and mouth," he said.
"The RFU is looking at ways to avoid relegating them including a pools panel to predict results or another league restructuring."
Midland Leagues chairman Dave Robins denied there would be another reshuffle at Redditch's level but said the promotion and relegation picture would not be clear until the league programme was completed.
Redditch entertain Midlands Four West North side Handsworth in a friendly on Saturday (ko 3pm).
