AFTER 15 months of successful fund-raising, a Redditch and Bromsgrove branch of an animal charity is launching a renewed campaign to attract attention to its cause.

Inspired by a recent collection in the Kingfisher Centre where donations and the sale of merchandise raised £531, the Redditch and Bromsgrove RSPCA fund-raising team has shown what a combination of hard work and generosity from people can achieve.

Now the group is planning many more collection days.

It will be rattling its tins at Hopwood Services during June, at Sainsbury's in September and Safeway in October.

At the end of this month it will be spending an entire week at Tesco in Oakenshaw as part of the supermarket's week-long joint project with the national RSPCA.

But members believe these events will only be successful if they have the people to do the collecting.

Fundraiser Sue Kelham said: "It's a mammoth task and can sometimes be a grim one if you have to stand outside shaking a tin in the rain.

"But it's really worth it and we welcome help from anyone who feels they have time to spare.

"We did really well in our first year and we're determined this will continue.

"We've also recently been invited to set up our stall at the Alexandra Hospital, which will be a great boost.

"Next year we plan to hold an open day for all the family at Arrow Valley Countryside Centre.

"We'd like to thank everybody who has helped and encourage them to continue in the future."
