FAIRFIELD, playing their fourth game in seven days, ran out easy winners.
The game started on a bumpy pitch and after 15 minutes Villa were awarded a penalty for handball. From the resulting spot kick, taken by Vinny Rattray, the Burntwood 'keeper pushed the ball around the post for a corner. Two minutes before half time Gary Hay put Villa in front with a shot from ten yards.
Five minutes into the second half Villa increased their lead when a clearance from keeper Phil Clarke hit Hay and he finished well. In the 58th minute Ian Brown scored with a header from a right wing corner.
In the 80th minute the visitors pulled a goal back when Simon Heath headed past 'keeper Sanders from close range. In the 86th minute Hay completed his hat-trick with a powerful shot from 15 yards.
The final goal came two minutes from the end when central defender Steve Hudson hammered the ball home from close range.
