A PUB restaurant near Droitwich Spa has been forced to close for six weeks following a dramatic kitchen fire.
Diners fled from The Swan, at Martin Hussingtree, when a blaze swept though the kitchen roof last Tuesday.
A chef bravely attempted to extinguish flames. Firefighters from across the county took over within minutes.
Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries, which owns the pub, said it would be closed for six weeks for repairs. It will reopen on Monday May 21.
A company spokeswoman added: "It's unfortunate that we have had to close at this time of the year.
"Summer is on the way and we have a Bank Holiday coming shortly which would have attracted lots of customers. But the work has got to be done.
"The main thing is no-one was hurt."
She could not confirm how much would be spent on the repairs.
