A CONCERNED OAP is urging highway chiefs to repair worn out Droitwich roads.
Walter Bennett, of Woodmans Close, wants potholes filled in and cracked pavements upgraded on his estate.
Mr Bennett has lived in Westlands for 30 years.
He said: "I've never seen the paths in such an appalling and dangerous condition.
"I'm surprised someone hasn't suffered an injury."
The 68-year-old took his concerns to Wychavon Highways Partnership's senior maintenance technician, Andrew Wynn.
In a letter, Mr Wynn told the Spa pensioner: "The estate was constructed at the same time and it has deteriorated at the same rate - to a point where all the roads and paths need repairing together.
"Unfortunately, we don't have resources to do this but we're working through the estate from the Meadow Road area."
Highways partnership maintenance manager Andy Broome told the Advertiser: "We carry out frequent inspections to ensure roads are up to scratch.
"Anything considered hazardous is repaired as soon as possible.
"There is a cash pot for major work but unfortunately it's shared throughout the county and we have to prioritise."
Droitwich Spa town councillor Joe Doody (Lab, Droit.West) said: "I hit a pothole on Monday while driving across the estate and I thought I'd damaged my suspension.
"I'm very concerned about children and elderly residents. They could easily trip and get hurt.
"The highways have been in a bad way for about seven years and it's time cash was spent getting them in shape."
