LAMPPOSTS lighting a busy Droitwich road will be spruced up.
Thirty lampposts in The Holloway will be transformed from drab grey to forest green.
The work, funded by Worcestershire County Council, follows ardent campaigning from the authority's social services portfolio holder, Cllr Peter Pinfield (Lab, Droit.Town).
Last year, he spotted lampposts in the town centre which had been painted green and called on the council to give The Holloway lampposts a similar lick of paint.
But it wasn't until the new financial year the authority could stump up the money.
Work begins in the next two weeks - weather permitting.
Cllr Pinfield said: "The Holloway is a very important road, linking the old side of the town with new developments.
"As you drive along there are some nice views and I think the new colour lampposts will be very complementary."
