REDDITCH came in third in the final round of the Worcester Winter League in a week which saw them reap the rewards of Olympian Jamie Salter's Sydney heroics.

After achieveing a personal best in the 200m freestyle last summer, Salter won a Kellogg's Personal Best Award.

And every pound awarded to Salter will be matched and split between Redditch Swimming Club and St Augustine's High School where his prodigious talents were nurtured.

The final Winter League gala got underway with the 11 yrs medley relay and Redditch came third, repeating the feat in the freestyle.

Laura Cranshaw won the 15/u freestyle, with a superb performance and Matthew Hooper swam a close race for the boys with nothing to separate them at the finish when he came in third.

Cranshaw finished second in the 15/u backstroke and sister Nikki showed an amazing performance in the 13/u backstroke where she took a commanding lead to the finish.

The open butterfly saw Paul Wilkes swim an incredible race, again leading from the dive with first place in the bag.

Rachael Jones came third for the girls and again took to the water in the open backstroke where a strong finish saw her second.

Simon Crowe swam in the 15/u backstroke where an extremely close race saw him take second on touch.

Alex Munsey and Jamie Walker swam freestyle for the 11/u age group and both came third with Munsey winning the 11/u backstroke.

The 15/u medley relay team took third followed by second in the freestyle.

Sarah Holtom was in action for the 13/u butterfly where a close race with the Orion swimmers saw Holtom push all the way, finishing second.

Holtom was back in the water for the 13/u breaststroke where an exciting race saw her neck and neck all the way to finish second.

William Beddow battled hard for the boys taking third and swam for the 13/u freestyle where his final length saw him pull back well, taking second.

The 11/u butterfly saw Rebecca Purcell push hard all the way, and take first on touch.

In the 15/u butterfly, Lisa-Marie Impey came home third.

Vicki Webb took to the water for the 15/u breaststroke with Webb taking third.

The 13/u relay team came home third in the freestyle.

There were two spirited performances in the open freestyle from Emma Anderson and Jamie Mackay, with both second.

The 11/u breaststroke saw a lively start from Vicki Crisp who held on to win.

A closely-fought race for the boys saw Sam Holtom third.

The open breaststroke saw Lisa Newport pull back strongly on her final length to take second.

Jonathan Webb also finished strongly in third.

The final relay was the open freestyle, and after a cracking race Redditch came home first and took second in the medley.

Broadway won with Orion second and Haden Hill last.
