TWO Wyre Forest dance starlets are jumping for joy after hitting the big time.
Jimmy Chamberlain, 11, of Kidderminster, has pipped 800 youngsters to land a scholarship at the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School, London. Jimmy Chamberlain
And Callum Henderson, 10, of Bewdley, has landed the role of Mordred in the Birmingham Royal Ballet's tour of Arthur Part II, which opens at Sadler's Wells on May 8. Callum Henderson
Jimmy, of Holmcroft Road, will follow in the footsteps of several modern celebrities - the school has trained stars including Denise Van Outen, Billie Piper and Nick Berry.
Jimmy is no stranger to success - last month he finished a stint as Gavroche in a West End production of Les Miserables.
Mother Alison said: "Jimmy has always had two dreams - one was to appear in Les Miserables, the other to attend Sylvia Young's theatre school."
A scholarship is the only way Jimmy could win a place, which provides pupils with academic study, drama and regular auditions.
His school fees for the next five years will be paid, although his family is setting up a fund to help out with extra costs such as boarding, travel and exam fees.
Mrs Chamberlain said: "It was a dream come true.
"He just couldn't stop crying when he found out."
Anyone interested in helping out with Jimmy's fund should call Mrs Chamberlain on 01562 639166.
Meanwhile, Callum, of Woodthorpe Drive, was "delighted" to land the role of Arthur's son in the production which will also mark the re-opening of the Hippodrome theatre, Birmingham, in September.
