Bishampton United 2,
Malvern Radar 0
AFTER the entertaining games of the last two weeks, this clash had a distinct end of season feel about it as Bishampton brushed aside the challenge of their visitors without having to be at their best.
The early exchanges saw Bishamp-ton in control of the game but they failed to trouble the Radar keeper.
On several occasions the home forwards beat the offside trap only to fail with their shooting and final passes.
However, in the 15th minute, they managed the breakthrough when Mark Taylor sent Max Woodward clear. As he rounded the keeper he was brought down and a penalty duly awarded that was converted by Taylor.
Malvern's attacks were few and far between and posed little threat to the home goal. Their best efforts came from the long throw-ins which caused problems in the penalty area.
The only surprise was that it took United another 15 minutes before doubling their score.
Taylor played the ball into the penalty area Matt Bicknell beat the keeper to the bouncing ball and headed into an unguarded net.
The second half started brightly for the home side and they should have increased their lead. Mark Insall's fine cross was headed against the bar by Bicknell with the keeper well beaten and a minute later Greg Mason ran through the Radar defence but his shot was well saved.
The game again became scrappy with neither side able to apply any pressure on the defences, the best chance. As the game petered out Rob Bille save well low down, in what was the last meaningful chance of a game sponsored by Dudley's Coaches.
