Droitwich 0, Littleton 4

LITTLETON kept up their recent excellent run of form with a convincing 4-0 win.

The win sees them three points ahead of closest rivals Archdales, with two games in hand, in the chase for the Worcester Premier League crown.

Littleton had the majority of the play throughout, but Droitwich never gave up chasing and tackling although their efforts on target were minimal.

As early as the fourth minute the pattern was set as Littleton twice hit the target with a drive from Darren Reeves that went just wide.

This was quickly followed by a snapshot from 25 yards from Steve Pitcher which again was just wide.

The first goal came after 30 minutes when a vicious inswinging corner from Matthew Edwards was forced over the line by Reeves.

Littleton doubled their lead ten minutes later when Mark Gledhill nodded the ball forward to Des Cox who held off two defenders, drew the keeper and calmly stroked the ball home.

The same pattern continued in the second half and it came as no surprise when Littleton scored again. Philip Haines flicked the ball to Cox, who cleverly backheeled the ball past two defenders, sped into the gap and fired past the keeper.

The scoring was wound up in the 65th minute when Bobby Deacon sent a long ball down the right to Neil Hunt. He looked up and hit a pinpoint centre on to the head of the advancing Pitcher, whose header from 15 yards flew into the net.

Littleton, who further enhanced their title claims with a 3-0 win at Bishampton on Tuesday, are at home to Martley on Saturday, ko 3pm.
