PINT-SIZE theatre lovers were asked to cast magical spells when they watched an enchanting show on Saturday.

Excited families packed out the Norbury Theatre, in Friar Street, to see The Witch and The Jester.

The musical is the latest Children's Theatre 2001 event.

Five performers acted out the fate of a jester who lost his sense of humour when a witch cast an evil spell on him.

Children in the audience had to use their powers to turn the hag into a good witch and put a smile back on the jester's face.

Director Sharon Dobbins said: "The show had a great pantomime feel and everybody had a good time."

The next show, Cuckoo Clock Bird, is on Saturday May 19.
