KIDDERMINSTER Carolians brought a frustrating season to an end with a 29-15 friendly home win over Dixonians.

Their Birmingham opponents, runners up in Midlands Four West North, may well join KCs in Three West North next season.

The home pack were too good and heavy for the visitors in an entertaining game.

Andy Stooksbury opened the scoring with a penalty after seven minutes.

This was quickly followed by a try from forward John McRae, who performed well, in the 14th.

Within minutes, Dixonians had reduced the arrears with an unconverted try to make it 8-5.

Scores were coming thick and fast as skipper Adrian Taft scored KCs' second try, converted by Stooksbury.

On the half-hour, the Kidderminster crowd were treated to an Ambro Neri special.

The winger sprinted 50 yards to touch down and make for an easy Stooksbury conversion.

In the second half, Dixonians opened the scoring with a penalty but it was not long before Neri grabbed his second try.

Stooksbury kicked his third conversion for a 29-8 scoreline but the last word went to the visitors with a converted try.

A good result brought the season to an end for the successful seconds.

KCs pack dominated from the start and the backs were handed a good supply of ball.

Doug Anderson scored two tries, both converted by Tom Oakes who also kicked a penalty.

Burntwood's only score was a scrambled, converted try that made it 17-7 at half-time.

KCs dominated the second period and scored more tries through Matt Rigsby, Rob Preston, Ben Stirling and Iain Crockett.

Oakes converted two of the four to give KCs a well-deserved win.

KCs were never in the game but did manage two tries through Ian Doidge and Matt Such. Doidge converted both.

Twenty-eight players made the trip to France for KCs' Easter tour.

The opening game, against Charleville, was an easy and emphatic 52-7 win.

The French interpretation of the scrummaging laws did not help KCs but the backs did well.

Andy McLellan, Iain Crockett, Tom Oakes, James Lloyd Jones, Dave Betson, Barry Turner, Doug Anderson and Ian Patterson played superb running rugby.

The second game was against the Ardennes region who included a Belgian international.

Having lost Patterson with a hand injury, plus other injuries, KCs found the going tougher.

They scored two tries in the first half but John Lloyd and John Slim required hospital treatment.

The tourists did not let this throw them and they went on to score three more tries, running out 29-0 winners.
