April 27, 1901
Evesham: Howard Wells of North Terrace and Robert Luxton of Boat Lane, were summoned for riding bicycles without lights in proper positions on April 5. PC Howell said the defendants were carrying a lamp on a stick between them. Defendant Luxton said he thought one light would do between the two of them. Defendants were fined 2s 6d each.

May 1, 1926
Evesham: At about 12:50pm on Monday, an engine on the Great Western Railway line became derailed on a siding from the main up line, but fortunately the damage caused was slight and there were no personal injuries. As a result of the mishap the up line concerned was blocked for about three and a half-hours. A breakdown gang came from Worcester and the engine was again set on the rail by about 5pm.

Church Lench: At a meeting of the Church Lench village hall committee held on Monday evening, Mr Leslie Hawker was re-elected chairman, Mr B Shervington vice-chairman and Mr G Ellison, treasurer. The fete secretary reported that it was hoped in addition to the ordinary attractions at the fete, to arrange a flower and produce show in July.

Evesham: The International in High Street, Evesham - better known to generations of shoppers as George Mason's - is closing down. The decision to cease trading may herald the end for other International stores in the area. The store is one of two International groceries in Evesham and its doors will shut for the last time on May 22.
