KIDDERMINSTER carpet giant Brintons has been shortlisted for a prestigious award which recognises the best of British manufacturing.
It is one of 22 firms across the county battling it out for the Manufacturing Excellence Awards which are organised by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and have gained a reputation for being one of the most prestigious of honours.
IME director general Sir Michael Moore said: "These are the industry Oscars. The competition recognises the astounding efforts of British manufacturing and each company entering gets tangible benefits in terms of recognition from the Department of Trade and Industry."
A team of engineers will judge the companies, shortlisted from 240 entries, and the winners, who will receive a cash prize and trophy, will be announced during a ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel, London, on Thursday, June 28.
