AN innovation which could make the dreaded flat tyre a thing of the past - using technology developed for NASA - has hit Kidderminster.
Ultraseal is a treatment for vehicle tyres which seals puncture holes in a fraction of a second to avoid pressure loss.
The firm is based in Cardiff - but word is being spread across the Midlands by Kiddermin-ster man Chris Parker.
Mr Parker, of Offmore Road, has been involved in developing Ultraseal from an American product that was developed for NASA to treat moon buggies.
It is a special blend of chemicals which comes in a viscous liquid which is injected through tyre valves and coats the inner walls, and seals a puncture as soon as it happens.
It aims to put an end to drivers being stranded at the side of the road, unable to change a flat tyre.
Mr Parker has already found success for the product with Wyre Forest District Council using it to treat the tyres of a large lawnmower which had been experiencing frequent puncture problems.
"It's a tried and tested product," he said.
