At the April meeting, secretary Muriel Wanklin read the report of the West Midland Federation council meeting, and Edna Plimley-Rodriguez finalised plans for the federation lunch at the Mill Hotel.
"Thank you" cards from the returning officers who had attended the annual meeting were read out.
The guest speaker was John Clews from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, and he illustrated his talk on wild birds with slides and a video. He then judged the competition for an ornament of a bird.
The next meeting will be at John Stretton Memorial Hall, New Road, on May 8 when Mrs B Charnock will talk on Whatever Happened to Retirement?
The competition will be for a bookmark.
