At the April meeting, Angie McCarthy gave a report on the group meeting at Blakedown. Members were then entertained by Music Students from Birmingham Conservatoire.
The speaker was Ann Lee who, as a district census manager, explained the need for the Census for all areas of Government. The first Census was in 1801. The public will not have access to this year's statistics for another 100 years, the details will be stored on microfiche. Following her talk Ann answered members' questions.
The evening ended with an American supper and games of Beetle.
The decorated egg competition was won by Gill Munslow.
Next month the resolutions for the annual conference at Cardiff will be debated.
