ON Easter Monday, there was yet another radar speed trap at Leigh Sinton on the main Worcester to Hereford road.
When we did our return journey, we were travelling under the 30mph limit. As we drew level with the trap (which consisted of three police officers, one radar gun, one police car and one police motorcycle) we were overtaken by a Royal Mail van.
This vehicle had to be travelling at more than 30mph and was actually on a "no passing" mark on the road.
The police appeared to take no notice of this. Are we to assume, therefore, that people driving vehicles belonging to a Government department are exempt from the law and unlikely to have accidents?
We understand that catching ordinary motorists puts money in the till - whereas, if they catch a real criminal it costs money to put them in jail. Surely, the law could be evened up, and the same amount of cash and police time be spent on catching the real criminals.
