SIXTH-FORMERS at a high school have won a cash award to help new pupils cope with moving to a new environment.
The group of students at Wolverley High School are using the £500 award to run a peer-monitoring scheme aimed at raising levels of achievement among younger pupils.
The project is funded by the Barclays Bank New Futures initiative, which donates £1 million a year to schools for community schemes.
A Barclays spokesman said: "The project aims to increase the motivation and self-esteem of newcomers and help the sixth-formers develop teamwork and problem solving skills."
