DEFFORD and Besford Parish Council has made a bid to preserve the memory of Defford railway station.
At a recent auction the council bought a lot which consisted of 12 Triang 00 gauge trucks labelled 'M. Spiers & sons Defford and Eckington' and 'Richard White & sons Evesham'. The trains will form part of a reconstruction of the railway station and surrounding area.
This will eventually be displayed as a museum exhibit.
Anyone with suitable unwanted items should contact clerk Mr Graham Evans on 01684 295327.
Mr Evans would also be interested to hear from any schools or other groups who would like to take on the challenge of creating a part of the model.
