IN view of the foot and mouth disease on our doorstep, the race night arranged for tomorrow (Saturday) has been cancelled.
Many people due to come are from rural communities and decided the risk is not worth taking. This event will probably be held sometime in the future when circumstances are more favourable.
The monthly whist drive was held on Wednesday, April 4. Winners were: O Timmes, J Palmer, E Franklyn, B Eggerton, S White, M Jones, R Devereux, M Harley, P Gisby, P Warner, P McCarthy, E Willis. The MC was Don Warren.
The next whist drive is on Wednesday, May 2 but owing to the foot and mouth disease this may be cancelled. For further information, ring (01684) 294616 or 299542.
On Bank Holiday Monday, May 7, the Forthampton & District Royal British Legion will hold their annual coffee morning at Bushley Village Hall, from 10am to noon. Plant sale, bric-a-brac, cakes, games and raffles. All welcome.
