Congratulations to Ian Gane, of Colletts Green, for his moving performance in Abelard and Heloise written by Ronald Duncan and based on love letters written in 12th Century France. Ian played Abbot Peter Abelard with Jane Lush as Abbess Heloise, telling a Medieval love story accompanied by music composed by Dominic Hawley. The demanding roles were performed at the Theatre of Small Convenience and at other Church venues in Malvern.

At the April meeting of Powick Guild, Edna Jenkins gave away some of her secrets on flower arranging in baskets. She made it look and sound so simple. The results were beautiful displays with spirea, spider chrysanthemums, yellow daisies with red, pink, peach and yellow carnations. Edna gave her creations as raffle prizes and these were won by Phyl Yapp, Polly Perkins, Sheila Crump and Ethel Wood. The afternoon ended with refreshments served by Polly, Norah and Jean.
The April meeting will be at the Link Nurseries, Byrons Wood. We shall be able to look around and learn the workings and objects of this project.
We have all lost a good friend in Sarah Hill. She was a long-standing and regular supporter, although in latter years her health restricted her. Our sympathy goes to her daughters and their families.
