Two goals from leading scorer Lee Booth were not enough to take Stourport Swifts through to the Midland Alliance Davis League Cup final, Bridgnorth Town booking their place with a 3-2 second leg win last night.
Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Swifts were given a dream start by Booth who pounced on a weak back-header to score in the sixth minute.
But the home side took the initiative with a goal either side of half-time.
With 40 minutes gone Kevin Thompson rose to head home Ryan Daley's corner with Ian Perry heading in a Carl Bradley flag kick on 53 minutes.
But Swifts levelled on the night when Booth fired home from the penalty spot following a foul on Jan Mulders.
However, Swifts' Steve Ulfig was ordered off for foul and abusive language and Bridgnorth made sure of victory when Bradley blasted home from close range.
Third-placed Swifts hope to boost their title hopes at home to Boldmere St Michael's tomorrow (3pm).
