I HAVE been horrified by the unfolding story of the children being used as slaves on cocoa/coffee plantations in West Africa and feel impelled to do something about it but what can be done?
I would urge anyone who has similar feelings to write to the chief executive of all major suppliers of chocolate and coffee products asking for their commitment to stamp out this appalling trade and until they can give such assurances to boycott their goods.
There is the option to all buy 'Fairtrade' products. Another avenue would be to write to your local MP and the Prime Minister asking them to bring international pressure to bear.
