SO Ms Nussbaum finds the sight of dead animals too upsetting. It is, but she should be glad that she was not watching her own livelihood going up in smoke.
Farm animals, calves and lambs are not put there to make the countryside look pretty. A farmer gets his money from breeding and selling them so that people can eat meat. Nobody hands him a paypacket every week regardless.
I think the councillor should come down to earth and understand that children need to see unpleasant things occasionally to help them come to terms with the realities of life and death.
Nobody seems to spare a thought for the people who have to carry out this dreadful but necessary killing and disposal. How many of us could do it? They are rushed off their feet, and we should be praising them not condemning.
