WORCESTER City's Dr Mar-tens Cup success was due to be toasted in the House of Commons today.
The city's MP Michael Foster, a regular supporter at St George's Lane, drafted an Early Day Motion congratulating the team on their victory over Crawley Town.
The motion also wished them success for next season and in their battle to move to a new stadium on the outskirts of the city.
Mr Foster, who watched City's 4-0 win in the first leg, said: "Big teams like Manchester United and Celtic often get mentioned for their achievements in Parliament, but to Worcester, the success of the City is in the same league.
"I am delighted to be able to draw people's attention to the success of our local football club. I hope that the Mayor of Worcester can find time to arrange a civic 'thank you and well done'.
"Today is the time to celebrate the club's success, tomorrow we should all be doing our bit towards realising the ambitions of the club."
