AUSTRALIA'S leading New Orleans-style band is coming to Upton to record a new CD.
The Louisiana Shakers, led by Nick Polites on clarinet, are touring Europe this spring and summer and on Thursday, May 3 will be visiting Upton Memorial Hall.
The music starts at 8pm and admission is £6.
Jazz lovers are invited to come along and help to create a warming atmosphere for the recording.
The following night (Friday, May 4), the Friends of Upton Jazz Festival will present a young Swedish band called The Second Line Jazz Band.
The band formed in 1989 and in 1999 their trombonist Niklas Carlsson was voted top soloist at Sweden's international competition Glad Jazz.
The band will be appearing at Hanley Castle High School at 8pm.
Tickets are £8, £6 for members, available from Pepperpot Print in Upton or on the door.
