LAST Sunday saw the final 16 contestants in the Malvern Pool Singles Showdown battle it out to make up the quarter final berths.
At 7pm favourite Shaun Daly beat close friend Paul Cecil 2-0 and Simon Kopsch, the Colwall lad, saw off the strong challenge of Andy Bell. Steve Carter then disposed of Jay Tame by the same 2-0 scoreline and Steve Howe a local snooker player from Willie Thornes put out the only lady player left in, Becky Lynch, by two frames to nil.
Craig Lloyd saw off a shocked Fred Tandy 2-1 while Les Pearce eventually beat Lee Tandy 2-1. Andy Jones, second favourite, beat John Bumphrey 2-0 and finally Peter Ralph lost to Keith Reynolds 2-0.

These matches will take place on Sunday, May 6 at the Cross Keys Inn, Belmont Road, Malvern, tip offs 8pm.
