MALVERN Post Office's crib team have made up for last season's disappointment of losing 8-7 to Bath in the final of the Post Office South Wales/South West Divisional Team Championships by taking the crown this year.
This was not their only success at cribbage, in 1995 Malvern were crowned Midlands Divisional Champions and went on to represent the Midlands in the National finals where the team finished fourth but walked away with the National Singles title through Kevin Nolan and Trevor Preston was the runner-up.
In 1999 Eddie Jones and Phill Veale won the Divisional Doubles tile and returned the following year to become the first pair to retain it. Eddie Jones was also Singles runner-up this year.
The team now represents South Wales/South West in the National Finals in October.
