EIGHT members from Malvern Junior Hockey Club who had represented Herefordshire & Worcestershire in the Millennium Youth Games, went to Milton Keynes National Hockey Stadium on Sunday where the best English performers held a re-run of last summer's matches held at Southampton.
After being given the title of 'First in England', the girls, Captain Amy Forsyth, Jo Churchfield, Nicola Harvey, Nicola Gough, Geraldine Pearson, Sophie Lloyd, Claire Burge and Zoe Price triumphed again beating their opponents Derbyshire 3-2.
In the first 15 minutes two goals were scored by Jo Churchfield but by half time the score was 2-1. Then in the early second half Derbyshire scored equalised.
The Malvern girls were determined to win and with good teamwork another goal was scored by Sophie Lloyd. Nicola Gough maintained a high standard of goal keeping throughout saving some great shots.
They did themselves proud with help from coach Anna Stocker and manager Sophie Peerbux.
