MALVERN Squash Club captain Dale Wilde completed his ninth London Marathon on Sunday and raised around £1,000 for charity.

A pleased Dale completed the 26.2-mile course in 3hr 58m after taking eight minutes to cross the start line.

Dale said: "I was very happy to get under the four hours, although I have done that before some years ago, and I really enjoyed the race, everything went well and it was a great day.

"I hope to do one more London Marathon next year and then I think I will call it a day, ten consecutive years will be enough so it will definitely be my swansong."

This year Dale was running for Diabetes UK and Alastair's Appeal Fund and his money raised will be split between these two causes.
