Kidderminster Harriers ended their home Division Three campaign with a last-gasp 1-0 defeat to promotion hopefuls Hartlepool United.
Despite missing their first penalty of the season when Drewe Broughton was denied by keeper Anthony Williams, Harriers had a tough task against impressive opponents.
The visitors sub James Sharp pounced in the last minute of normal time to ensure his side are guaranteed a place in the play-offs of the second successive season.
Keeper Tim Clarke and his previously solid defence were caught ball-watching by the late strike.
Clarke had earlier made a brilliant double save to deny Tony Lormor and Tommy Miller, keeping mid-table Harriers in the game.
Harriers were reduced to 10 men deep in stoppage time when Drewe Broughton was sent off for a second bookable offence.
In the end, the celebrations were in the Hartlepool camp and there is little to play for when Jan Molby's men take their final bow in a difficult season at York City next Saturday.
