I WAS delighted to read The Phillpott File (Tuesday, April 17) complaining about the treatment of Coronation Street fans when their programme is pushed aside by football.

I have always thought it most unfair and so have all my friends. We don't see why sports cannot be shown on different channels.

Unfortunately, I am not able to start a petition because of ill health and its disabilities, but I think one ought to be started.

Let us all have a say on what we consider our favourite soap and the way it is treated by ITV.
