COUNCILLOR Rod Staines and Tim Pinney try to rubbish Mike Foster, (You Say, April 20).
Councillor Staines contemptuously refers to Mr Foster as having "increased the duties of lollipop ladies".
In fact, many elderly people, the disabled and mothers with school age children welcome help crossing busy roads.
Tim Pinney makes the same tired criticism of the Worcester MP's attempt to outlaw hunting with dogs.
In fact, this is a cruel world for humans and for many other life forms. Any attempt to spread enlightenment or to reduce the burden of suffering for any living creature is to be welcomed.
I believe Mike Foster to be a caring and compassionate man. In a harsh world, I salute such a person.
D E MARGRETT,
Worcester.
